A Study on the Aesthetic Characteristics and Transformation Mechanisms of Cross-media performers’ Stage and Screen Performances under Media Differences

Abstract

Cross-media performers face challenges in rhythm control, emotional delivery, and spatial deployment when shifting between stage and screen performance, resulting in aesthetic inconsistency across media. This paper constructs a performance transformation mechanism model for cross-media performers under media differences. The study integrates literature review, experimental comparison, and interviews. Sixty video clips of stage and screen performances from 30 dual-media actors are collected, and four variables are quantified: camera distance, performance rhythm, facial micro-expression, and spatial movement. Audience responses and attentional focus are measured through eye-tracking and emotion recognition systems. Structural equation modeling is used to validate the performance transformation mechanism. The results show that performance adaptability across media can be optimized through emotional accuracy training, camera awareness, rhythm reconstruction, and spatial perception training. Emotional expression accuracy and camera awareness adaptability influence audience perception consistency, while spatial rhythm coordination plays a mediating role. The study provides a quantitative framework for analyzing performance aesthetics and offers practical guidance for actor training across stage, film, and television media.
