Abstract

Graphic poetry integrates visual encoding and textual narrative, transforming linguistic structure into spatial form and enabling emotional expression through the interaction of image and text. This paper explores the emotional symbiosis and artistic expression mechanism of graphic poetry from the perspectives of visual-text unity, multisensory experience, and step-by-step creative technique training. Graphic poetry expands the expressive boundaries of poetic art by using typography, layout, font morphology, and spatial syntax as primary expressive elements. Visual encoding initiates rapid affective response through shape, color, and spatial relationships, while textual narrative supports deep semantic immersion through imagery, rhythm, and meaning. The study identifies major problems in current graphic poetry creation, including separation between visual form and textual content, superficial emotional expression, and insufficient systematic guidance for creative techniques. It then proposes strategies involving visual-text integrated design, multisensory emotional construction, and progressive technique training. The research provides a framework for improving cross-media creation, aesthetic perception, and emotional resonance in graphic poetry, and offers reference for visual narrative design in related artistic fields.
